Should Chelsea’s Drogba face punishment for coin throwing incident? The PFA thinks so!

Didier Drogba just got back from injury and already he’d facing the wrath of the PFA! After scoring a goal against Burnley yesterday, Drogba did something he shouldn’t have done during his goal celebration: he retaliated by throwing something into the stands. Ooops!

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba should be banned for three-matches for throwing a coin back into the Burnley fans during Wednesday night’s Carling Cup tie, according to Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) chief Gordon Taylor.

The forward was prevented from celebrating his first goal of the season when an object was thrown on to the pitch at Stamford Bridge and despite apologising for throwing it back Drogba is facing a police investigation and an FA charge. (ESPNSoccernet)

Drogba lobbed a coin in the direction of the Burnley supporters at Stamford Bridge after one of them supposedly lobbed something his way during the match. This isn’t grammar school, Didier! You can’t throw things back if you’re provoked. The PFA is now calling for Drogba to spend more time on the bench by way of a three-match ban.

What do Chelsea supporters think? Should Drogba get a match ban for the incident?
