Spurs line up AMBITIOUS £24m TRIO bid: TWO Good, One Great!
by Mr Comfort on March 11th, 2009 216 words | 6 commentsRedknapp plans another raid on his former employers!
According to the tabloid newspapers, the Spurs manager is keen to sign Peter Crouch, Glen Johnson and David James in the summer.
Whilst the Fratton Park club will be eager to prevent the trio leaving the South Coast, much will depend on the outcome of their fight against relegation.
Redknapp is anxious to make wholesale changes to his White Hart Lane squad, and a move for three of his former stars may be just the beginning. (fansfc.com)
Of the three mentioned in this piece i feel that Glen Johnson would be a fantastic capture. Yes Spurs have about ten full backs on their books but the Pompey man is a quality player fast approaching his peak. Peter Crouch is a good player but Tottenham have better players warming their bench and David James is not really needed now that Carlo Cudicini was cleverly brought in a couple of months ago. Clearly the summer could see big changes at both Portsmouth and Spurs, especially if either is relegated so it’s a case of watch this space. Of this trio who would the White Hart Lane faithful most like to see sign?
Also, Spurs fans may want to check out Spuroo. We gave it a browse earlier and seemed quite nifty.

I would favour Glen Johnson as we need a strong defender. Peter Crouch could also be considered because of his aerial skills near goal. As for James,we already have 2 good goalkeepers.

Total nonsense. We don’t want or need any of these players. I’d have taken James if we didn’t have Cudicini, Crouch is not the right kind of player for us. We need a strong centre forward that can outmuscle defenders, not a tall player who is shit in the air but surprisingly good with his feet.
As for Johnson this would be a total waste of money. We already have 3 of the best right-backs playing in this country in Hutton, Corluka and Chimbonda plus Gunter who is a very promising young right-back. Then there’s Zokora who has looked superb in that position when needed. Glen Johnson is not better than Hutton and maybe marginally better than the other 2 players right-backs.
I’m sure this is just old conjecture recycled from when Harry first took over.

we dont need any players from teams in the bottem half e have enough at spurs we need to keep the squad 3 players should leave prince and rocha and gilberto and the rest should stay and form a good team with the youngsters upgraded dervite henville bostock mason rose townsend parrett obika . The likes of tom lennon ohara bale will be older and wiser and should kick on and become stars ,or sold and haunt us come on harry stop the revolving door and watch us grow into the side that played well against utd .And also next year the new testing laws will stop these crazy results and quality wil once again come to the fore .coys

I think resigning Erik Thorstvedt would be a little more effective than David James, dont think “the crouch”will be happy sittin on the bench,so how Harry will ever fit in Defoe Keane and him is as mysterious as a woman.

out of the three mentioned only james ,would be my choice as i would always feel very insecure with either of our present ones in the side . In rames i feel we would have at least a world class keeper and let one of the others go.

Gomes is better…we have enough average strikers and Hutton pisses all ova Johnson…
