Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is keen on making a summer move to Manchester United according to The Sun.

The Polish striker has been in fine form for Dortmund, attracting the interest of a number of top European sides.

Lewandowski has less than eighteen months to run on his contract and it is thought the Bundesliga side will look to cash in on the player this summer rather than risk losing the player for nothing.

Bayern Munich are thought to be showing strong interest in the player, but Lewandowski is reportedly concerned with how Dortmund fans would react to him leaving for the club’s big rivals.

That could pave the way for a move to Manchester United with Sir Alex Ferguson known to be an admirer of the player.

The Old Trafford boss almost signed Lewandowski last summer before instead choosing to opt for Robin Van Persie.

Fergie is reportedly still keen to bring the striker in but would only be interested in a deal should one of Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck or Chicharito Hernandez leave the club.

Lewandowski’s wish could come true with speculation increasing in recent weeks that Rooney is set to leave Old Trafford after being dropped for his side’s crucial Champions League tie against Real Madrid.
