Avram Grant believes Rooney will stay at Manchester United.
Check in to Chelsea vs Everton
Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant does not believe his old club will sign the Manchester United striker, and that the England international will remain at Old Trafford.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Israeli coach said that he sees Rooney as a player too valuable for United to let go, despite recent rumours that the 27-year-old wants a new challenge, and that he could even move to rivals Chelsea.
The forward has been in and out of the first team this season and often played out of position under Sir Alex Ferguson, leading to speculation that he is unhappy at the club. However, with Ferguson retiring and being replaced by Everton’s David Moyes, Rooney could still stay at United.
“Wayne Rooney is a great player,” he said. “If he comes to Chelsea he would a huge addition. I think he will stay at Man United, though – every manager knows that he is a player that can win games.
