The Telegraph claim that veteran Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has finally agreed a new deal to stay at the club for one more season.

The 34-year-old’s future has come under much speculation this season as he approached the end of his contract and seemed unable to agree new terms with the club.

However, it seems that Lampard’s fine end-of-season form has earned him a new deal, and a chance to add to his incredible goal scoring record of 203 strikes for the Blues.

This will come as good news to Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, who is understood be set for a return to Chelsea as manager next season, and who was keen to keep experienced players like Lampard and John Terry around.

Terry’s future has still not been resolved, and the defender has been in and out of the team this season in a similar manner to Lampard. The 32-year-old has now been linked with a move to big-spending Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Lampard had been linked with Monaco and LA Galaxy, but has often said he would like to end his career at Stamford Bridge, as well as work under Mourinho again.
