Monaco look set to continue their lavish summer spending spree by making a move for Zenit St Petersburg’s Hulk according to Goal.com.

The Brazilian striker has made no secret of his desire to leave the Russian club after a turbulent year.

Hulk caused friction within the Zenit dressing room immediately after arriving at the club, with many of the club’s more established stars unhappy at the far higher wages the Brazilian striker was receiving.

Hulk has also had a number of spats with the club’s manager and fans and only stayed at Zenit during the previous transfer window because FIFA rules prevented him from moving again.

But that changes this summer which could pave the way for a big money move to Monaco.

The Ligue 2 Champions are keen to build a side capable of challenging for honours on both domestic and European fronts and are investing large sums of money on new recruits.

Should Hulk arrive at the club, he will be presented with the mouth-watering opportunity of forming a striker partnership with Colombian forward Radamel Falcao.

The Atletico Madrid forward underwent a medical at the club in the last few days and is widely expected to sign before the end of the week.
