Dimitri Payet’s agent has denied that the player could be leaving for Marseille, with reports suggesting that the France international has already agreed to a move, Goal.com reports.

Payet is also the subject of reported interest from Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger on the look out for a skilful winger.

However, his agent has said that despite the interest from the two clubs, nothing concrete has been agreed and Payet is still a Lille player.

“Lille have told me about Marseille’s offer for Dimitri,” he told La Marseillaise.

“They said that Marseille offered €7 million [£5.9m] and that they rejected the bid. Dimitri has not reached an agreement with anyone. Not with Marseille and not with any other club.”.

Payet has a contract with Lille until 2015 and joined the club in 2011, signing from Saint-Etienne.

The winger has had a successful time at Lille, scoring 19 goals in 95 appearances but it is thought that Payet is ready to move to a bigger club, with Arsenal thought to be hovering.

Arsene Wenger has always enjoyed bringing French players to his Arsenal side and has had a lot of success in doing so, with the likes of Robert Pires and Thierry Henry flourishing under Wenger.

The Frenchman could look to do the same with Payet, however he will face competition from Marseille and possibly AS Roma, whose new manager, Rudi Garcia used to coach Payet at Lille.
