Arsenal have been offered striker Karim Benzema by Real Madrid as the Spanish giants look to off load the Frenchman as well as Mesurt Ozil and Angel Di Maria, the Daily Mirror reports.

Officials at Real Madrid are desperately trying to sell the unwanted trio so that they can finance the moves for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

Madrid feel that they can raise around £100 million by selling Benzema, Di Maria and Ozil, which would fund the Bale transfer and part fund the move for Suarez.

Arsenal are understood to be interested in signing all three players but have made Benzema their priority as Arsene Wenger feels that he needs to add a top class striker to his squad.

The Gunners have been offered Benzema and have the money available to pay the transfer fee but the Gunners face a tough task in trying to persuade the Frenchman to move to the Emirates.

Benzema is desperate to stay at Real Madrid and he has made his feeling known to officials at the club.

However, Madrid are plotting behind his back and have offered him to a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, who declined to make an offer, leaving Arsenal to make their move for him.
