London rivals competing for in-form young striker next summer.

Check in to Stoke City vs West Bromwich Albion

Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea are both set to go head to head in the battle to win the signature of highly-rated West Bromwich Albion youngster Saido Berahino, according to reports on ESPN.co.uk.

The England Under-21 international has been with the Baggies his whole career, with the 20-year-0ld making his debut for the club back in the 2011-12 campaign.

However, it is this season in particular that Berahino has established himself as a first-team regular at the Hawthorns, with the striker catching the eye with his display against Premier League champions Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this month.

It was Berahino’s well-taken goal that sealed a shock win for the Baggies against David Moyes’ side, and rumours have since emerged that he could be lured away from the club.

But with Berahino now only contracted to the west Midlands outfit until June 30 2014, and still no agreement in place to extend the front-man’s stay at West Brom, it is understood that London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are both circling in the hope of being able to snap up the Englishman on a free transfer next summer.

Both sides are keen to sign a new striker and missed out on several big-name targets during the summer.
