Belgian ace comes clean about Gunners interest.

Check in to Arsenal vs Chelsea

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has revealed that Arsenal were also looking to sign him this summer before he eventually decided to head to Old Trafford, the Daily Star reports.

The Belgian midfielder finally made his exit from Goodison Park after a long spell of speculation by following David Moyes to United for a deal worth £27m on transfer deadline day, and he has now opened up over who else was actually interested in his services.

The 25-year-old also hinted that Chelsea were also in the running to bring him on board.

“I don’t want to tell you everything what happened during the transfer,” he said.

“This was done at the last minute.

“In a transfer window, there is always a list of players, you never know if it’s true or not. But for me, I knew [Moyes] was interested in me.

“Chelsea? No comment. Arsenal? It’s true, they were interested, but Manchester United convinced me to sign for them.”

Fellaini has yet to hit top form for the Red Devils, but he is confident that David Moyes will be able to turn things around and get the club back to winning ways before too long.

“David Moyes has given me confidence,” he added.

“When I was in trouble early at Everton, he helped me and supported me.

“He did everything for me to become a great player.

“I was criticised, nobody knew who I was. I succeeded because I worked a lot. That’s why I’m playing for Manchester United today.”
