Chelsea and Real Madrid are reportedly set to swap midfielders as Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti look to do business in January according to the Daily Star.

Bernabeu battler Sami Khedira is apparently a target of Blues boss Mourinho and the German international is said to be unhappy with life at Real Madrid, and particularly upset at the club’s sale of national team colleague Mesut Ozil and this could lead to Ancelotti looking to bring in Brazilian Ramires in a sensational swap deal.

The former Benfica man has been a huge success since moving to Stamford Bridge back in August 2010, signed by then Chelsea manager Ancelotti, and has been pretty much an ever present in the first team set-up ever since.

Ramires has become a pivotal member of the Chelsea set-up and was key to the club’s Champions League and Europa League successes and has started all nine of the club’s Premier League fixtures this season and as such it would be surprising if Jose Mourinho were willing to lose the box to box performer.

Ancelotti is however confident he can lure Ramires to join the Spanish giants.
