Chelsea and Liverpool strikers wanted in La Liga.

Check in to Arsenal vs Liverpool

La Liga outfit Valencia could make bids for Demba Ba and Iago Aspas this January as they continue to search for a new striker, the Daily Star reports.

Having sold leading scorer Roberto Soldado to Tottenham for £26m during the summer transfer window, manager Miroslav Dukic has been on the lookout for a replacement upfront for the prolific Spaniard.

Manchester United’s out-of-favour forward Javier Hernandez has been linked strongly with Valencia in recent times, though it is thought that the Mexican international rejected a move to the Mestalla to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

This could now see Valencia switch their attentions to Chelsea and Liverpool, who both have players that currently look to be surplus to requirements.

Ba has struggled to hold down a place at Chelsea since joining the club from Newcastle last January, and almost joined Arsenal on loan on deadline day before Jose Mourinho pulled the plug on the deal as he didn’t want to strengthen a title rival.

Aspas, meanwhile, has also looked out of sorts since moving to new club Liverpool this summer, though he enjoyed an impressive scoring record in La Liga last season with Celta Vigo.
