Jose Mourinho is known to be a big fan of the 20 year old French international, who is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and the placing of a reported £53m release clause will apparently not scare off the Blues boss.

Chelsea are not the only side keeping a close eye on Pogba, the likes of Man United, Man City and Arsenal are also keen on the youngster though Mourinho may well expect to see the Stamford Bridge side’s owner Roman Abramovich provide him with the funds to further improve a squad that has had something of a bumpy start to their Premier League campaign.

Pogba moved to Juventus from Man United in July 2012 and the rangy midfielder helped the club to a Serie A title in his first season at the club, making 22 starts in all competitions.

Antonio Conte has afforded the box to box performer a more prominent role in the current campaign, with Pogba starting 14 of the club’s 16 Serie A and Champions League fixtures.

Mourinho may feel that the leggy battler would be a better fit to sit in the centre of his midfield than the likes of John Obi Mikel, Micheal Essien and perhaps even Ramires, with Pogba arguably being a more complete performer than the aforementioned trio.
