Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be set for a stint in the treatment room again after picking up a suspected thigh injury during the club’s 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Boxing Day, according to the Metro.

The Welshman was forced to limp off the pitch at the end of the encounter with reports coming from the Gunners dressing room that he has a torn thigh muscle and could be missing for the remainder of the club’s busy festive period.

The 23-year-old will now undergo a scan on Friday to determine the full extent of the problem, but forward Theo Walcott admitted that he and his teammates were worried about him after the game.

Manager Arsene Wenger also confirmed that he will be sitting out the next couple of games by saying: “I don’t know how bad it is, but, for sure, the Christmas period he will be out.”

Arsenal are already without a host of key players, including Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Abou Diaby and Yaya Sanogo as they look to keep up the pace on their title challenge.

The news will come as a blow not only to fans but to the player himself who has already had to overcome a number of serious injuries throughout his career.
