Wojciech Szczesny became only the fourth goalkeeper in Arsenal’s history to play 100 games for the club after featuring in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

The Polish international is still just 23 – baby years for a goalie – and is surely only going to get better.

Szczesny has faced plenty of criticism since becoming the Gunners number one during the 2011/12 season and was even dropped by boss Arsene Wenger for a hefty chunk of last term.

But the former Legia Warsaw star, who arrived in North London in 2006, was backed by Wenger in the summer despite links with a number of stoppers and has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League so far this season.

Szczesny has also made 28 senior appearances for Brentford whilst on loan, and has 14 caps for Poland.
