Manchester United are ready to challenge Arsenal for the signature of Real Sociedad goal-machine Antoine Griezmann, according to the Daily Mirror.

The tabloid says beleaguered United boss David Moyes watched the winger make his France debut in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over the Netherlands in Paris.

The 22-year-old has scored 15 La Liga goals in just 23 appearances this season – impressive, given he plays as a left winger for Real.

Man United scout David Friio confirmed the club’s interest in the player and said Griezmann could be a star of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

“Griezmann would bring something,” Friio said.

“His versatility and technique, in a tournament where space is limited, are real assets. You can’t score 15 goals in a great league without having real qualities.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger recently admitted he is a fan of Griezmann, while Chelsea have also been linked with the Frenchman.
