The brilliant Belgium international has been at Stamford Bridge now since the summer of 2011 when the shot stopper first arrived at the Blues from Belgium outfit Genk on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

However, as yet the 21-year-old has still to even make a first-team appearance for the Uefa Europa League holders, with the keeper having instead been shipped out on loan to La Liga high-flyers Atletico Madrid in every season since.

And now, with speculation beginning to increase of late regarding the player’s future, it appears as though a decision will shortly be mace regarding Courtois, with it expected that the youngster will agree a new deal that will keep him in west London until June 2019.

But rather than return to his parent club next season, Courtois is still set to return to the Spanish capital once again on loan.
