Manchester City are poised to make a huge player-plus-cash bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according to the Daily Express.

Pogba, 21, was on the books of Manchester United as a teenager, but, after making just seven substitutes appearances for the Red Devils, he left Old Trafford on a free transfer in July 2012.

He was swiftly picked up by Juve and became an immediate hit in Turin.

Two fine seasons in Serie A have seen Pogba forge a reputation as one of the finest goalscoring midfielders in the world, with many of his 12 league strikes coming from long range.

Pogba has two years left to run on his current contract at Juventus Stadium, but he is said to want a pay-rise after establishing himself as a key member of Antonio Conte’s squad.

According to the Daily Express, City would be happy to meet Pogba’s wage demands, which are around £70,000 per week.

The paper also claims that the Premier League title favourites are prepared to pay Juve £32m plus either Aleksandar Kolarov or Edin Dzeko for Pogba’s services.

City are apparently keen to move quickly for Pogba because the eight-time France international is also fancied by Arsenal, Chelsea and, despite his acrimonious departure, Man United.

Pogba recently accused United of showing him a lack of respect during his time in England.

He told BBC Sport: “They left me out because they said I wanted to leave. That is disrespect”
