FC Porto star would prefer to sign on at Stamford Bridge over the Etihad Stadium or Old Trafford.
French central defender Eliaquim Mangala wants to see if Chelsea move for him before committing to long term suitors Manchester City or Manchester United, reports the Daily Star.
The 23-year old Porto star is rated at a whopping £35 million, and although he is line for a big payday at Man City, he is believed to be preferring a move to London, and hence is waiting on Chelsea to substantiate their interest.
Porto meanwhile, are also waiting for the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea to rival the Citizens for the highly rated centre-back as they want a bidding war to ensue between the cash-rich clubs.
Moreover, Mangala’s performances for France at this year’s World Cup could also have a big bearing on the transfer fee of the player, and Portuguese giants know that they could pocket more money if any deals are pushed through after the mega tournament in Brazil.
Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd are all in need of defensive reinforcements, which means that we could witness a very intense battle for one of the most promising young defenders in Europe.
