It was reported by The Express earlier this week that Cardiff City had rejected a £6m bid from Arsenal for Scottish goalkeeper David Marshall.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to recruit a new stopper this summer, as, following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski on a free transfer, Wojciech Szczesny is the only recognised keeper at the Emirates Stadium.

We have listed five players that Arsenal could go for that would be better options than Marshall.

Petr Cech

The 32-year-old is expected to lose his starting place at Chelsea to young Belgian Thibaut Courtois next season.

Cech is too good to be second choice for anyone and will surely not be happy to warm the Stamford Bridge bench.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal were interested in Cech last year. Surely Wenger would pounce if he became available this summer?
