Torino have slapped a price tag of £16.5m on the head of in-form Italian forward Alessio Cerci, a rumoured target for Liverpool and Manchester United, according to talkSPORT.

The 26-year-old was one of the stand-out performers in the Italian top flight in the 2013/14 season, and his combination of superb wing play and goalscoring ability have seen him compared with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Plenty of top clubs are showing an interest in Cerci this summer as he prepares to take part in the World Cup finals in Brazil for the Italian national team, and Liverpool and United have now been set an asking price for the player.

Both clubs are in the market for new attacking midfield players this summer, with United in particular desperate to strengthen after a highly disappointing campaign this year, and with the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia all badly under-performing.

The Red Devils have been linked with big names such as Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben and Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, but Cerci may now prove a more realistic and affordable target.

Torino have already had to deal with the departure of star striker Ciro Immobile to Borussia Dortmund, and the loss of another key player in Cerci would be another blow for the Serie A outfit.
