Check in to Costa Rica vs England

Arsenal and Sunderland are likely to consider moves to sign Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz this summer, according to The Express.

The 28-year-old Costa Rica international has been in fine form at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where his country have secured qualification from Group D courtesy of shock wins over Uruguay and Italy.

Ruiz scored the decisive goal in Friday’s 1-0 victory over Italy and he has formed an impressive partnership with Arsenal’s Joel Campbell, who will return to North London this summer after spending last season on loan at Olympiakos.

Fulham paid £10m for Ruiz when he arrived at Craven Cottage from FC Twente in August 2011, but they are expected to demand less than that to sell him following their relegation from the Premier League.

Ruiz had scored 35 goals in 65 league appearances for Twente, but he has been unable to produce top form for Fulham, scoring just eight times in 75 games in all competitions.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV, for whom he netted five Eredivisie goals in 14 outings.

Gunners boss Arsenal Wenger is thought to be keeping a keen eye on Ruiz, who is likely to lineup against England on Tuesday, while Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is known to be a big fan of the player.
