World Cup winger wanted in the Premier League.
Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Manchester City are all in the race to sign exciting Netherlands winger Memphis Depay, according to the Daily Star.
The 20-year-old has been in eye-catching form at this summer’s World Cup, scoring two goals for his country in the group stages of the competition to follow up a fine season in the Eredivisie for his club PSV.
Widely regarded as one of the best up-and-coming prospects in Dutch football, Depay is now attracting interest from bigger clubs and has enhanced his reputation with his displays in Brazil so far.
Three of the Premier League’s big boys are now seemingly set to make offers for him this summer, including current champions Manchester City as they look to build another title-winning team for next season.
Although Depay insists he will not be thinking about his future until after his participation at the World Cup, the player did admit to knowing about interest from Spurs, United and City in signing him in this transfer window.
“Of course I’ve read that Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are interested. But no more than that,” he revealed.
“I’ll see later. My agent Kees Ploegsma is here [in Brazil] too, but we are not talking about that kind of stuff. That is for after the World Cup.”
Depay scored 14 goals in all competitions for PSV in the 2013/14 season as he enjoyed a superb breakthrough season for his club.
