QPR are readying an £8m bid for Chelsea forward Demba Ba as Harry Redknapp seeks to prevent his Loftus Road side once again slipping into the Championship according to the London Evening Standard.

Chelsea paid Newcastle United around £7m for Ba in January 2013 and has been pretty much a bit-part player for the Stamford Bridge side and as such could be on his way out with Jose Mourinho set to welcome in Diego Costa to boost his Blues attack.

Ba may well be keen on the short move across west London, knowing that regular first team football would follow, though one wonders if QPR would be able to match the wage the Senegalese international earns at Chelsea.

The experienced forward impressed at both West Ham and Newcastle United before moving to Chelsea and is a proven Premier League marksman and could be the man to help get Redknapp the goals his side needs to keep the right side of the relegation zone.

QPR were outscored by most sides battling for promotion from the Championship and only former Burnley man Charlie Austin found the net on a regular basis, hence the need for reinforcements.
