Everton are in talks with Chelsea as they once again look to land a Blues striker on a loan deal according to the Daily Mail.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez was indebted to Belgian youngster Romelu Lukaku last season, with the 21 year old netting 15 goals to finish the campaign as the club’s top-scorer, and now the Spaniard wants to sign former West Ham and Newcastle United man Ba.

One obstacle to a loan deal is Ba’s £80k a week wage demands and the Goodison Park side may hope that the Blues cover a portion of the 29 year old’s salary.

The Senegalese international was a bit-part player in 2013/14 and the summer arrival of Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa is likely to further limit Ba’s chances in Jose Mourinho’s first team set-up.

Ba cost Chelsea £7m in January 2013 and has scored 14 goals in 51 appearances for the west London side.

Martinez still retains an interest in Lukaku though this source believes the Chelsea man may be on his way to Atletico Madrid.
