Paris Saint-Germain look set to confirm the £60m signing of Real Madrid star and Manchester United target Angel Di Maria in the next couple of days, according to Marca.
The Argentine winger has been widely expected to complete a transfer away from the Bernabeu this summer, despite his fine form last season seeing him become one of the team’s most important players in their Champions League and Copa del Rey victories.
Manchester United had emerged as contenders to sign him, but now look set to miss out as PSG close in on a big-money deal believed to be worth around £60m, despite the club’s issues with Financial Fair Play.
It had been suggested that the 26-year-old could join the Ligue 1 champions on an initial season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent move going through next summer, but it is now thought that he will join the club on a full transfer this season.
This could see some of PSG’s players leave the club as they will need to sell to ensure they stay in line with FFP laws, having been in trouble about it with Uefa before after their big spending in recent years.
