AS Monaco are ready to pounce for unsettled Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, with the Daily Mirror reporting that they have put together a £10m package for the player.

The Czech Republic international no longer looks to be number one at Stamford Bridge after the immensely impressive displays of young shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois during a three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

The Belgian international was given the nod in goal for the team’s first Premier League game of the season away to Burnley, and it is thought that Cech is not entirely happy with how Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho handled the situation.

Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his situation, but it is now thought that Monaco are stepping up their interest and have a big-money contract for three years on the table for the 32-year-old.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will be happy to let Cech go as Mourinho may want to keep him as a backup to Courtois, but the long-serving goalkeeper may well be tempted by the chance to move on and become first choice somewhere else, particularly with the money on offer at Monaco at the moment.

The Blues are said to favour loaning Cech out, but Monaco are keen to do a permanent deal this summer.
