Man United continue to pursue Juventus playmaker Arturo Vidal and hope that their latest offer will be one that the Turin side consider accepting.

The Daily Star suggest that Louis van Gaal is ready to slap in a bid that comprises £32m in cash and the choice of one of two Old Trafford forwards.

The players on offer are Mexican Javier Hernandez and England international Danny Welbeck, both of whom could offer the a further striking option of real quality.

However does Massimiliano Allegri does possess two very capable forwards in Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez so one wonders if the offer of an attacking midfielder, a player who can act as a direct replacement for Vidal, might be more tempting an offer.

One imagines the addition of Japanese international Shinji Kagawa would be far more compelling and is perhaps a player Louis van Gaal would be willing to sacrifice.

Vidal has played a key role in three successive Serie A titles, scoring 28 goals in 95 appearances in the process, but may be unhappy at his side’s lack of progress at Champions League level though clearly a move to Old Trafford this summer would mean no action at that level for the Chilean in 2014/15.
