Newcastle United Boss Plans January West Ham Raid

Newcastle United are lining up a bid for a new centre-back and boss Alan Pardew has earmarked a January move for West Ham’s James Tomkins according to the Daily Star.

The Magpies have no intention of recalling Mapou Yanga Mbiwa from his successful loan spell at AS Roma and will look to use funds from a permanent deal to help fund move for the 25 year old Hammers defender.

With captain Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson both struggling for form Pardew is keen to reninforce his back-line when the transfer window re-opens.

One wonders if Tomkins would be keen on a move to Newcastle United, especially with his side sitting in seventh place in the Premier League and Newcastle United sitting in the relegation zone having failed to secure a single win in their opening seven fixtures.
