Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their interest in PSG forward Edinson Cavani with Fichajes reporting that the north London side are now in talks with the Ligue 1 side ahead of a move to bring in the Uruguayan.

Arsene Wenger has been tracking the 27 year old for some months and may hope that the fact that the former Napoli man is apparently unsettled at the Parc des Princes may aid their push to secure the talented attacker.
The Metro claim a move would cost Arsenal around £55m, which would smash the Premier League side’s transfer record.
A move for Cavani may be something of a surprise to many given that Wenger has brought in Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck from Barcelona and Man United respectively over the summer, though perhaps Olivier Giroud’s long term injury concerns are a factor.
Cavani has been used primarily in a wide role since moving to the French capital and has to cope with playing second fiddle to Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic though has still managed to score regularly, netting 29 goals in 51 appearances for PSG.
