The 19-year-old midfielder has been targeted by a whole host of big names in recent times, with Arsenal thought to have been among the favourites to snap him up, though this no longer looks the case.

Rabiot has rejected numerous contract offers from PSG as he has been unhappy with his role in the first-team, and it now seems that he has chosen Roma as his next club.

The Italian giants are known to be keen on the youngster, who may be a replacement in midfield for Manchester United target Kevin Strootman, whose future is under some doubt going into January as United continue to pursue him as one of their top priority transfer targets.

Rabiot has spoken fondly of the project at Roma and believes his agent, also his mother, has given him good advice about where to play his football next.

The French youth international added that he may not play for PSG again before he finally leaves the club.

“Roma are a great club, their project is enticing and they are in the Champions League,” he said.

“Now we’ll have to wait until January and see what to do. I chose my mother as my agent as she gives me good advice. I don’t know if I will play for PSG again, as I don’t enjoy being in the reserves.”
