Carlo Ancelotti’s Incredible Real Madrid Team Beat ‘Galacticos’ To Be Voted Best Los Blancos Side Of All Time

The team which won La Decima beat off some of the greatest Real Madrid sides ever assembled to win the prize.

Readers of Spanish newspaper Marca have overwhelmingly voted for Carlo Ancelotti’s current side as the greatest Real Madrid team of all time.

Beating off competition from a Galactico side full of names like Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, David Beckham and Ronaldo, Ancelotti’s side grabbed an overwhelming 35% of the votes to claim the prize.

It’s difficult to argue against the result. While Iker Casillas was better back in the Galactico days, Marcelo, Pepe, Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal are an amazing back four, especially with Raphael Varane as backup.

In midfield, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are two of the finest technicians in the game.

Ahead of them, the attacking talent is jaw-dropping. Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema keep even the likes of Isco out of the team.

Even the Madrid side which won five consecutive European cups in the 1950s couldn’t compete according to the readers of Marca, as they achieved a disappointing third place with only 25% of the vote.

José Mourinho’s team, featuring current Premier League stars like Mesut Ozil and Angel di Maria,  won the league with a record number of points, but mustered only a feeble 5% of the vote.
