Welbeck van Gaal Man United: Louis van Gaal claims Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck wouldn’t get into Man United team.

The Dutch boss sold Welbeck to the Gunners this summer in a deadline day deal for £16m. The 23-year-old has really come into his own since joining the North Londoners and looks to be thriving in his new environment.

His international form has also been on the rise since moving to the Emirates Stadium, netting five times for England in recent games. This adds to his tally of five since joining the club, and will be hoping to kick on against his old club if he is fit.

Moyes says Welbeck’s form since joining Arsene Wenger side has not shocked him one bit, singing the youngster’s praises in a recent interview.

“I’m not surprised one bit,” he said.

“He was an excellent player for me last year. If you look, we played him in nearly all the big games and I thought an awful lot of him.

“It’s been a really good move for Danny. He’s a really good lad and player, maybe it will help him. He’s gone away, he’s scoring for England as well and I think he’s getting more respect for what he’s doing.”

The Scotsman feels it was the wrong decision for van Gaal to sell the England international and claimed it was certainly not a move he would have condoned.

“You make your own decisions,” he added.

“Every manager is entitled to their own opinion, but it wouldn’t necessarily be mine.”

Welbeck took a knock while on international duty, but will be hoping to be fit by Saturday when his old club United head to the Emirates.
