Correa is one of the brightest prospects in Argentine domestic football currently and has been having a fine season for Estudiantes, attracting the attention of the Premier League duo as well as fellow continental giants AS Monaco and Paris Saint Germain.

The report suggests that City would look to loan the player to high flying Serie A outfit Sampdoria to become accustomed to European football before bringing him to the club, but they hope to strike a deal for Correa as soon as possible to leave Chelsea very much reeling from the loss of a player who could become a real star of the future.

Benfica have already had a £6 million offer for Correa rejected by Estudiantes in recent months according to the report, but it is suggested that City would be able to prise Correa away from his club for around £8 million – a fee that could represent a good deal if the hype around the 20 year-old’s huge potential proves to be justified.
