Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is coming under increasing pressure at the club, which will now surely increase as Ajax manager Frank de Boer has declared his interest in the job, the Daily Express reports.

The Reds slid down to 10th in the Premier League this week following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, which came just days after the side crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of Basel.

Rodgers is now under pressure to pull something out of the bag to help salvage the club’s season, but may not get a chance to do so if de Boer gets his way.

“It’s a nice club,” his brother Ronald said.

“If Liverpool come now he would certainly think about it. He would certainly not close the door immediately, like he did two years ago.”

Tottenham were linked with a move for the former Dutch international over the summer, but opted for Mauricio Pochettino instead.

However, Andre Villas-Boas – now at Zenit St Petersburg – is the bookmakers’ favourite, while Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp and former Reds favourite Rafael Benitez are also in the frame.
