Liverpool and England wonderkid Raheem Sterling has been fined £600 for a car offence, because he forgot to pay insurance on one of his vehicles, reports the Mirror.

Sterling did not appear at the court date, and pleaded guilty to the minor offence.

The 20-year-old also paid court costs of £110 and a further £60 surcharge.

The money is unlikely to affect Sterling much, with the wonderkid on £30k-per-week. However, he has apparently turned down terms on a £75k-per-week extension, with his agent apparently demanding that his client is offered far more lucrative terms.

On the pitch, Sterling’s been inconsistent this term, but there’s little doubt that he has the ability to develop into one of the world’s very best footballers if he fulfils his enormous potential.

To do so however, he’ll need to focus his efforts on the pitch, and spend less time paying police fines and discussing mammoth new contracts.
