Real Madrid considering parting with French centre back Raphael Varane.
Manchester United and Chelsea have received a significant boost in their respective bids to sign highly rated French international central defender Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, report the Express, with reports indicating that the prodigious young talent could be available in January for a fee as reasonable as £20 million.
Varane has generally impressed whenever he has been given the opportunity to shine in Real Madrid’s first team, but the impressive and seemingly unbreakable partnership of Pepe and Sergio Ramos at the heart of defence is blocking his progress and, with Real set to tie up lucrative new deals with their senior duo, he could look to move on to secure regular action.
Real are also said to be open to selling the former Lens youngster if they received an offer that matches their valuation of the player, said to be in the region of £20m, as it will allow them to bring home grown star Nacho closer to the first team squad, a player for whom there are high hopes at the Bernabeu.
Both United and Chelsea are thought to be searching for significant defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window and Varane could well be looking like the most realistic option if they are looking for top class talent and a reasonable price.
