The Berahino saga continues to rumble on.

There is every chance that the future of West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino won’t be decided until the very end of the January transfer window, with £20m the latest price quoted for the Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target.

The Independent reports that West Brom don’t want to part with the 21-year-old, but if they are forced into selling their prized asset then it will cost the Reds or Spurs £20m to land the Englishman.

Berahino cuts something of a forlorn figure at the Hawthorns currently, shown by his refusal to celebrate any of the four goals he scored against Gateshead in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday.

New Baggies manager Tony Pulis insists that in the safety of the dressing room the forward is a happy and settled figure, but many think the way the England Under-21 international reacted was due to the way he has been portrayed in recent weeks.

It’s said Berahino is a difficult individual to manage, turning up late to match days and being punished by being left out of the starting XI as a result.

How much of this is true is unknown, but both Brendan Rodgers and Mauricio Pochettino view the youngster as the ideal attacker to come in and improve their respective failing front lines.
