The report suggests that United could look to make one marquee signing during the January transfer window in a bid to bolster their squad for the rest of the campaign, before adding to that with another two eye-catching captures in the summer. These are the three players that are suggested to top van Gaal’s wishlist:

Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

The first player on the list is Southampton right back Nathaniel Clyne, the England international who has been one of the most impressive performers in Ronald Koeman’s overachieving Saints side so far this season. The report suggests that Clyne is the first choice and will be the man who United pursue in the summer, but Everton and Republic of Ireland star Seamus Coleman remains an option as they look to bolster at right back.
