Manchester United are keen to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer, but are also tracking an exciting youngster as a cheaper alternative, according to the Daily Express.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with Bale in recent times, but Louis van Gaal is also a known admirer of PSV winger Memphis Depay, who has been compared to Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben.
Depay played under van Gaal in his Netherlands World Cup squad last summer, and has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur in the past.
United could do with strengthening in the attacking midfield position due to some poor performances from Angel Di Maria this season, and Depay is next in line if they cannot sign Bale.
