Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois has claimed that his side has a special plan to deal with Manchester United danger man and compatriot Marouane Fellaini, which will ensure he doesn’t carry on terrorising defences, according to The Daily Mail.

Fellaini’s Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League’s late kick off and hope to derail Chelsea’s bid to lift the Premier League title for the first time in five years.

Blues Belgian goalkeeper Courtois though, has revealed that his side have worked on a special plan to deal with unorthodox midfielder Fellaini who has starred in wins against Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham.

He said, “Manchester United have a lot of other good players to decide a match, so we are not completely focused on Fellaini. But we know that when he comes into the box, he is very dangerous.

“I will probably have to come out to collect crosses into the box. Of course, we know about him and hope to keep him out.

“Of course, (the exact way we deal with him) has to be kept private. I cannot say exactly how we will do it, but of course we know to keep an eye on Marouane.”

Courtois has played alongside Fellaini for Belgium and understands the midfielder needs to play to his strengths, otherwise it is likely he will come across badly.

Despite the abilities of his countrymen, the Chelsea stopper is confident in lifting the Premier League trophy at the end of the season, only a year after winning the Spanish league title with Atletico Madrid.

Courtois believes Eden Hazard’s form has been a major factor, along with teams not knowing how to play against the club at the beginning of the season.

He said, “I think at the start of the season, teams did not really know how to play against us. Now they know and they try to stop the way we play as much as possible.

“Eden has been decisive for us and if we are champions, a lot of credit goes to him,” he added. “In that area, he still has an edge over his competitors.”
