As Tottenham striker Harry Kane struck his 30th goal of the season in all competitions in the 3-1 win against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon, his manager Mauricio Pochettino has joked that rest of the squad should be expecting dinner on the England international.

Kane had been one shy of the landmark since bagging a hat-trick against Leicester City before the international break and hadn’t scored since marking his Three Lions debut with a goal against Lithuania last month.
But against an out-of-form Magpies side at St James’ Park he ended his mini goal drought and became the first Spurs player to score 30 goals in a season since Gary Lineker in the 1991-92 campaign.
Such is the impressive feat that Pochettino believes the strikers team-mates deserve to be treated for helping him to achieve the landmark:
“Congratulations to him because he deserves this moment.” he told the BBC following the game.
“I think he needs to pay for a dinner this week for his team-mates. The team work a lot and try to help him score.” he joked.
The win keeps Spurs with an outside chance of finishing in the top-four as they remain seven points behind Manchester City and they meet at White Hart Lane at the beginning of next month.
