The Belgian has been in great form for the Blues this season, scoring 18 goals and grabbing 10 assists for them so far. The 24-year-old has also been nominated for the PFA young player of the year and the PFA player of the year.

Predictability for a defender, Ivanovic has praised the winger’s new found willingness to get back and help his full-back.

He said: “He is flying. In my opinion it’s been the best season of his career. He’s made a difference every game. All season he has got a lot of kickings but he never complains. He’s a hard worker on the pitch. He’s improved massively from last season and for us he has been the most important player.

He continued: “I see him every day in training and I’ve played a lot of games with him. He’s the guy who when you pass him the ball you just have to leave him alone. He will do everything. He’s something different.”

Manager Jose Mourinho will need his main man to be at his best on Sunday when the Stamford Bridge outfit play Arsenal. Although there is a ten point gap between the sides, the Gunners are the only team left who have any real chance of catching the Blues. Even so they need Chelsea to drop seven points as well as lose on the weekend.
