Arsenal boss sets sights on Ligue 1 pair as Arsene Wenger prepare summer transfer raid

Arsene Wenger has reportedly set his sights on two Ligue 1 stars according to the Metro.

Wenger is of course no stranger to raiding the French top tier for new additions and on his apparent summer wish-list are Lyon winger Nabil Fekir and AS Monaco centre-back Aymen Abdennour.

Gunners fans will be well aware of Abdennour, the Tunisian having played in both legs of AS Monaco’s Champions League clash with the north London side, but a move for the 25 year old seems hard to fathom given Wenger strengthened his central defensive options in January when he signed Gabriel Paulista from

21 year old wide-man Fakir has had a superb season with Lyon this term, netting 12 goals as well as being one of Ligue 1’s top assist makers.

That said it would be hard for Fekir to force his way into Wenger’s starting eleven given just how many top quality attackers he has in his squad at present though given his age the Arsenal boss may see French international as a long term prospect.
