Reports suggest the Londoners are considering a move to bring in 33-year-old England international Rickie Lambert, who has had a disappointing first season at Anfield and who may already be heading for the exit door.

QPR may be in need of a new signing up front as in-form striker Charlie Austin looks set to attract plenty of interest from bigger clubs after an outstanding individual campaign in the top flight.

The 25-year-old managed a highly impressive 18 goals in 35 Premier League games, putting him amongst the highest scorers in the country, and some big names have supposedly shown an interest since then.

According to the London Evening Standard, this could then see Rangers bid to bring in the out-of-favour Lambert as his replacement, with the former Southampton man likely to shine in the Championship after a successful career spent mostly in the lower leagues.
