It’s looking increasing likely that David De Gea’s transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid is expected to be confirmed sooner rather than later – so much so that Louis van Gaal has reportedly drawn up a list of targets ahead of the Spaniard’s imminent departure.

The Daily Star have revealed the trio of names on the Dutchman’s Red Devils summer transfer wish-list. Though a former Barcelona keeper – already at Old Trafford – could be considered for the no.1 shirt, too.

1. Hugo Lloris – Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs’ sweeper keeper and France’s captain – very few could argue that Lloris deserves to be – and should be – playing in the Champions League. If he were playing for a club of high esteem in Europe, he would certainly be spoken of much more. Tottenham look unlikely to threaten the top four unless they spend big in the summer market, which could tempt the 28-year-old to move on.

A confident stopper – unafraid of running off his line and helping out his defence by leaving his box – similar to Manuel Neuer. While such a style of play could prove nervy at Old Trafford – with mistakes inevitable – the Frenchman would be an excellent successor to De Gea.
