Old Trafford side look to welcome in White Hart Lane youngster.
Man United have identified Tottenham striker Harry Kane as their top summer transfer target according to The Sun.
The 21 year old enjoyed a superb season in 2014/15 and Man United have now made contact with Spurs to express their interest in the England international.
Kane bagged 31 goals in all competitions last season, and netted on his England debut, and Man United see the young marksman as a ‘new Wayne Rooney’ and hope to lure the £40m rated youngster to Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal could do with having a prolific attacker to lead his front-line and having opted against signing Radamel Falcao and with Robin van Persie linked with a Man United exit, Kane is now a player the Dutch boss wants to land this summer.
Van Gaal has already brought in young Dutch winger Memphis Depay, who finished last season as the top scorer in the Eredivisie, and it’s likely further high profile additions are likely as Man United seek to mount a genuine push for major honours in 2015/16.
