Chelsea REVEAL Manchester United flop Radamel Falcao’s squad number at Stamford Bridge

Radamel Falcao has been handed the coveted no.9 shirt by the reigning Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea ahead of the 2015-16 season.

The West London outfit confirmed the news on their official website on Monday evening as the former Manchester United loanee is set to take the shirt that was last worn by Fernando Torres.

Falcao’s season-long loan move to the Blues from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco was announced on the same day the summer transfer window opened on July 1 [via Guardian Sport] as the 29-year-old is set for another crack at trying to prove himself in English football.

His tenure at Old Trafford last year was largely forgettable as he struggled to find the form that once made him one of the most feared strikers in European football during spells with Porto and Atletico Madrid.

Falcao found the back of the net four times for the Red Devils, however he did something to impress Blues boss Jose Mourinho, who has taken a huge gamble and will be hoping his faith in his new striker is repaid as the club look to retain the league title.
