Liverpool are close to sealing the signing of exciting young Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi ahead of rivals Manchester City, according to African Football.
The Reds are known for landing some of the best young talent on the planet, and Awoniyi seems to fit that bracket after some eye-catching displays for his current club.

The 17-year-old has also impressed for Nigeria’s youth teams, and has been tipped to make a loan move from Anfield as soon as he joins, most likely to Belgium or Holland.
This would be a similar move to Liverpool’s move for Belgian starlet Divock Origi while he was still at Lille, which saw him immediately loaned back to the French side.
