The Senegalese international is reportedly on United manager Louis van Gaal’s radar as he looks to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes in just under two weeks.
Mane emerged as a surprise target for the Dutch boss after a deal to bring Spanish winger Pedro to Old Trafford was sensationally hijacked by reigning Premier League champions Chelsea and his transfer from Liga BBVA giants Barcelona was confirmed earlier today for a fee believed to be in the region of £21million.
The Saints are keen to hold on to their prized asset and naming him in the team for the huge European clash is further evidence of that.
